LANCO Anpara Power Pvt Ltd is setting up a 1200 MW (2x600 MW) coal based thermal power project at Anpara in Uttar Pradesh, India. LANCO won the Anpara C power project through the first ever competitive bid under the Electricity Act 2003.

Anpara C is a fast track project with all major approvals in place, including the clearance from the Ministry of Environment and Forests. The Uttar Pradesh Government has already tied up for the project’s coal and water linkages. It has also put in place 765 KV transmission line for power evacuation and power purchase agreement with distribution companies promoted by the Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Board. Anpara is a pithead project with coal mines just 25 km away and a Merry-Go-Round (MGR) system already exists for transportation of coal in railway wagons.
