Lagadapati Madhusudhan Rao is among the most keenly watched young corporate leaders of modern India.
An engineer with two post-graduate degrees in design and industrial engineering, Madhusudhan Rao returned to India in 1991 after a professional stint in the US. Coming back home, he joined the family's construction business - till then headed by his brother L Rajagopal, and brother-in-law G BhaskaraRao.
Over the next ten years, from a small family construction business, the Group forayed into diversified activities. These included steel, cement, foundry and power. Consolidation of the various businesses under a single entity - Lanco Infratech Limited, followed next. A definite strategic focus on Power, Construction, EPC and Infrastructure - as business verticals - came along its wake.
In 2002, Madhusudhan Rao took over as the Chairman of Lanco Infratech Ltd., when the founder Chairman, his brother L Rajagopal opted for active politics. In the next few years, under Madhusudhan Rao's leadership, Lanco emerged as one of India's fastest growing business conglomerates. Today, it is one of the largest private power developers in India with over 16000 MW under operation, construction and development. A strong professional leadership has been built across the organization which now employs over 7000 people.
Taking charge, Madhusudhan Rao had identified the need to continuously build and foster a corporate culture where enterprise, identity and ownership control complemented each other. Mr. Rao's efforts have drawn recognition and respect for Lanco as a mature and trusted corporate with an integrated Corporate Social Responsibility program. Lanco's CSR arm, Lanco Foundation, has numerous initiatives underway in Education, Health, Community Development, Environment, Disability and Safe Drinking Water. Lanco's CSR philosophy and practice are internalized across the Group and marked by coherent and integrated strategies for sustainable development.
Mr. G Bhaskara Rao is one of the founder members of the LANCO Group of enterprises. He is currently the Executive Vice-Chairman of LANCO Infratech Ltd and heads the Construction Division of LANCO Infratech.
Bhaskara Rao holds a Bachelor's degree in engineering with Production as specialisation. He also holds an M.E degree in Machine Design from the prestigious Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
Bhaskara Rao is respected for his expertise and achievements in the Construction industry. His varied experience in project planning and execution continues to give a firm direction to LANCO's strategic growth, especially in the Construction and Infrastructure segments.
As head of the Finance function and member of LANCO's Strategy Team, Mr. G. Venkatesh Babu provides direction to the organisation's strategic partnerships and growth initiatives. His area of specialisation is acquisition of finance for LANCO Infratech's projects and utilisation of resources for all group companies.
Mr. Babu is recognised in the industry as a master strategist, with in-depth knowledge of using emergent opportunities to stay ahead of competition in today's challenging business environment. He has successfully transformed LANCO Infratech Ltd. into an aggressive, growth-oriented organisation, responsive to the dynamics of today's marketplace.
Mr. Babu has invaluable experience in commercial banking, corporate advisory, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and equity capital markets. A Bachelor of Commerce from Madras Christian College, he is also a Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant.
Mr. A.A. Khan's rich experience of over four decades has been gained in the institutional sector and with the Government of India where he worked in the areas of project management, project financing, restructuring and reforming India's power sector and its credit enhancement to help increased flow of investment into the sector from financial institutions, banks and private sources.
For the last 25 years, Mr. Khan has held top positions in the energy sector. He has been associated with various power sector policy formulation committees of the Government of India and was member of state power sector reform committees of several states of India.
Mr. A.A. Khan holds a post-graduate degree in Electronics and an M. Tech. from the reputed Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
Mr. Panduranga Rao heads LANCO Infratech's gas based power projects. In this capacity, he is Director and CEO of LANCO Kondapalli Power Pvt. Ltd. as well as Director of ABAN Power Company Ltd. and Udupi Power Corporation Ltd.
A commerce graduate from SV University, Tirupati, India, Mr. Rao is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a certified Company Secretary. He did his articleship with the well-known Chennai based company, Brahmayya & Co. He has more than 28 years of rich experience across diverse industries.
Mr. K. Raja Gopal, as business head, is responsible for building, owning and operating thermal power plants for the LANCO group. Currently, he is spearheading the development of large, key thermal projects across India. As member of the senior management, he is actively involved in the formulation of the group's strategy on organisation design, operation and maintenance approaches, etc. His vision and strategic thinking have contributed to LANCO overcoming numerous challenges and implementing several of the company's power projects that are currently operating successfully.
Mr. Gopal has over 28 years of rich and varied experience in project development and various functional disciplines of manufacturing and power sectors. He is a post graduate in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration.
He has over 35 years of experience in key positions with leading corporates, Mr. S.C. Manocha's key areas of expertise encompass pre-project planning, project planning, key negotiations, departmental clearances, procurement, financial modelling, business strategy, marketing intelligence, and strategic alliances. He is well versed in project management, financial management, labour laws, welding engineering, construction and planning of thermal power plants, planning management and project management, having studied these disciplines at reputed institutes across India.
Mr. S.C. Manocha is a mechanical engineer and a management graduate.

Mr. Pochendar Shenigarapu holds a B. Tech. degree in Civil Engineering and an M. Tech. in Environmental Engineering. He has over 26 years of experience in the construction of residential and commercial spaces, water supply and sanitation project execution, operation and maintenance works, turnkey execution of combined cycle power projects, and marketing infrastructure projects.
Mr. Prasad Kandimalla heads Business Development in Power and Infrastructure verticals at LANCO.
Mr. Kandimalla joined LANCO in 2004, to head Power Projects Development, Renewable Energy and CDM Projects, and the IT Business. Prior to joining LANCO, he held leadership positions in the areas of financial services, projects, IT and management consultancy in India, the US, Europe and the Middle East.
He holds a Masters degree with a specialisation in Energy and Systems, and a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Mr. Sanjay Kumar Mittal brings over 30 years of extensive experience in hydropower construction, project management, contract management, power evacuation and implementation to LANCO. Prior to joining the LANCO group, Mr. Mittal, as Executive Director with NHPC Ltd., was in charge of oversight of Teesta-V (510 MW), Teesta Low Dam-III (132 MW), Teesta Low Dam-IV (160 MW), Teesta-IV (495 MW) and 210 MW Lachen Project (210 MW). He was also responsible for the preparation of a pre-feasibility report on 10 hydro projects in Sikkim under the 50,000 MW Hydro Initiative of the Government of India.
Mr. Mittal has been recognised for his outstanding contribution to the hydropower industry by the Government of Sikkim and honoured with the 'Central Board of Irrigation and Power PM Ahluwalia Award' for his significant contribution to the development of the power sector.
An Electrical Engineer, Mr. Mittal has several published papers to his credit and is a member of national and international professional bodies.
Mr. V. Saibaba has over 25 years of rich industrial experience in diverse industries both within and outside India, with more than 10 years' association with the renewable energy sector.
Prior to joining LANCO, he held top management positions in the areas of general business management, business development, marketing, project construction and execution, manufacturing and technology with multinational organisations such as Suzlon Energy Ltd., General Electric, Vestas (India) Pvt. Ltd., APV Pasilac, etc.
Mr. Saibaba holds an MBA degree in international business from the Scandinavian International Management Institute, Copenhagen, and is a graduate from the National Dairy Research Institute. Saibaba is also Co-Chairman, Solar Energy Task Force, FICCI.
Arun Sen is CEO of LANCO International with primary responsibility for international power development. He has been a developer and investor in the international power and renewables sectors for the last twenty years. Previously, he was Managing Director of Coromandel Advisors, a Singapore-based company that he founded in 2007 to provide strategic and transactional advice to global investors in the infrastructure and clean energy sectors. In 2002, Mr. Sen co-founded Globeleq Ltd, a Houston-based power investment company, and successively held the positions of COO, Head of Latin America and Head of Asia. Previously, Mr. Sen co-founded and was COO of Hart Energy International, a Houston-based company that developed and invested in power businesses in Latin America and the Caribbean. From 1994 to 1999, he was Vice President at Coastal Power Company, an affiliate of a Houston-based Fortune 50 energy company, and from 1990 to 1993, he was Vice President at Hart Associates, a Washington, DC-based company that pioneered the privatization and development of power and environmental projects in Eastern Europe. Mr. Sen received an M.S. degree in Finance from The American University in Washington.
VK KAPOOR is working with LANCO GROUP - HYDRO DIVISION as a DEPUTY CEO. He did his B.Sc (Civil Engineering) from Delhi University, PG Diploma in Hydro Power Development from Norway & PG Diploma in Management (Finance). He has wide experience of 34 years in Planning, Design, Construction and Contracts.
In his current profile he is heading the EPC Business of LITL Hydro including identifying new Business opportunities for External EPC. He takes personal interest in Design, Engineering & Execution. He is responsible for strengthening of Contracts & Procurement capabilities of Hydro EPC. His vast experience in the Power Industry combined with his good communication & financial skills makes him understand almost every field of the Power Industry in a wider way.
Mr. Philip Stone's 36 years of world-wide experience encompasses design/engineering, development, project management, construction, commissioning, operations, repair and maintenance primarily in coal and nuclear fired power generation. However, he also has some refinery, process plant and green field power plant development experience.
Mr. Stone has spent almost 23 years working overseas with 13.5 years in China, and has extensive knowledge gained through a broad spectrum of challenging multi-functional roles both at sites and head office. His experience includes working on both sides of the fence as client/owner and contractor in 10 countries.
Mr. Guha is a Mechanical Engineer having 32 years of experience in Infrastructure construction in India and abroad. Mr. Guha has worked in organizations like DCPL, TCS, L&T having exposure in Design Engineering, Management Consultancy and Project & Construction Management.
Mr. Guha also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management in the area of Marketing and Finance.
Mr.Guha's areas of experience includes Utility projects, Material handling projects, Large water infrastructures, Roads, Oil&gas and Minerals and Metals.
Mr. VN Bhamidipati, with more than 32 years of experience in the US fossil power plant industry, has held leadership roles in operations, maintenance, engineering, project management and business development. With his in-depth understanding of sub-critical and super-critical technologies, he has been instrumental in developing new power plant projects, managing large EPC contracts and negotiating international fuel contracts. His professional experience includes advanced project management and use of financial models developed by Goldman Sachs.
Before joining Lanco, Mr. Bhamidipati served as Head of Operations and Maintenance for Adani Power Limited and was responsible for commissioning and stabilising five units with total capacity of 200 MW. Prior to this, he worked at management positions at Progress Energy, Atlantic Electric (Conectiv), Potomac Electric Power Company and Stone Webster Engineering Ltd. in the US.
Mr. Bhamidipati holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mysore University, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Wichita State University and an MBA from North West Missouri State University.
An engineer by training, Mr. Keshav has more than 32 years of rich managerial experience across diverse sectors ranging from iron and steel ( Tata ) and real estates to consumer durables. Over the years he has successfully supervised and led verticals as varied as production, manufacturing, marketing and corporate affairs. A true peoples' person, he is currently based at LANCO, New Delhi.
Apart from heading Corporate Communications, Mr. Sreenivas Veluri is also a member of the Core Strategy Team of the organisation. In this role, he is responsible for driving LANCO's growth by exploring new avenues and opportunities through interaction with business chambers and organisations in India and abroad.
Mr. Veluri has over two decades of extensive experience in marketing and business development in the electronic and print media industry in India; he has the distinction of heading the first ever satellite Telugu television channel - Gemini TV.
He holds an MBA degree from Pune.
Mr. Deepak Bharara's knowledge of people management and experience in the infrastructure industry have contributed significantly to enhanced operational efficiencies, employee engagement and customer service orientation at LANCO.
Prior to joining LANCO, Mr. Bharara' three decades of experience has included leadership positions at several multinationals and large Indian corporate houses such as Eicher Tractors Ltd., the Indian Express Group, Samtel India Ltd., Whirlpool India Ltd., the Bharti Group, Jindal Steel, Aditya Birla Group and GMR.
He has a Masters degree from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) with a specialisation in HR and People Management. He also has a Bachelors degree in law from Delhi University as well as a post-graduate diploma degree in labour laws from the Indian Law Institute.
